30 Day Shred

I'd like you to picture THIS please...

My sister & I in sweat pants and sports bras (one of those things that is ONLY - in my rule book - acceptable in the privacy of your own home with family members), in my unfinished basement/ mancave, doing jumping jacks, and bicep curls with cans of black beans.

I assure you... We've had finer days!!

Today is Day 3 for me on Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred.  So far, I can't believe how HARD it is!  (I know, I should have expected it!)  Just after 20 minutes, I am in a FULL - I look like I just got caught in a downpour - sweat, and sore as can be.  That makes me think it's working... right?  It also makes me think I'm even MORE out of shape than I thought.  Wonderful.

Have any of you done the 30 Day Shred?  I'm really trying to do THIRTY days STRAIGHT and see how it changes my body.  Of course I'm hoping for the 20 pound weight loss the DVD cover says you "may" experience; but, realistically, what should I hope for?

I'd love some feedback, and - as always - you know I'll keep you updated!

  3. Keep it up girl! It sucks, and I curse the day I ever met that %$&*@! :) I did it back in February for a "destination wedding" 4 months after I had a baby. I totally wore my bikini!! I hated doing it...but I loved the results. (and you don't really have to do it EVERY day. I skipped several. Keep it up! After 3 or 4 times, you will be shocked at how easy it gets.

  4. I did it religiously for the 30 days before my wedding last June. I'd say I lost about 5 pounds (but I had already lost about 20 in the monthes leading up to it). Too bad I've gained it Alllll back in my first year of marriage. Ugh. It DOES get easier and you will be so proud of yourself when you are kicking butt on level three.

  5. You really need to take before and after pics so you can see the difference. Also, you should look up Zumba around your area to see if there are any classes there. Zumba is soooooo much fun! All it is is dancing and you get the best workout ever! I lost 10 lbs in two weeks with doing zumba only 4 times and eating a little better!

  7. When the new year started, I vowed to do it 30 days straight as well. I got to day 4 or 5, and quit. I still try to do it a couple days a week. I will say, it is by far the best fitness dvd that I have ever done. After only a couple days, I start feeling toned. It's kindof amazing. And, for only 20 min. it seems to fit into my schedule. But, sometimes thinking about those push-ups, keeps me from doing it. Those are the worst, but honestly they get easier. If you like to run, I am doing the Couch to 5k program as well. You should look into that too. Good luck, and keep it up!!

  8. I did it and I LOVE it! I've done it both for a month straight and also on days that I just don't feel like going to the gym. Stick with it and you will definitely see results! Good luck :)

  9. I've done it a few times but it isn't for me! I love Zumba and the walking program I'm on (I guess it helps having people around)!

    Good luck!
