Halloween 2011

Ok, I realize that Halloween is SO yesterday now and every good blogger posted photos, like, 24 hours ago... BUT, these days, I'm feeling pretty proud just for posting two days in a row.  Take it or leave it...

Halloween 2011: The Year of the Cuddly Pea Pod

The pumpkin my dad carved for the occasion... It says "Sam's 1st" in case you can't tell.

I loved seeing Sam in this costume even more than I loved all-I-could-eat candy day.  Seriously. I'm clearly bias, but I don't think I've ever seen a cuter pea pod... I figure I've got many years of fake blood and weird monsters and other "boy costumes" in my future... So I soaked up every minute of his sweet little cozy costume this year. (And by "little," I mean "he is squeezed into it and would have busted out if Halloween had been one day later.") L.O.V.E.D. I.T.

And, in a very close second for the most adorable sight of the night...

My girl... Looking very girly.  And happy, no?

We celebrated Sam's first Halloween with both of our families.  It was the perfect fall night for bundling up on the front porch, eating chili, and gorging ourselves on handing out candy to (literally) hundreds of trick-or-treaters.  I might love our neighborhood the most at Halloween.

Sam slept through about 98% of the night - how could he resist when he was so warm and toasty? - but, I still think he enjoyed his first holiday... In fact, I'm going to go out on a limb and say it was his best Halloween yet.  ;) It was mine, for sure.

Ok, I'm off to stalk other bloggers who hand-made their kids costumes and feel a tiny bit guilty... for a minute.  There's always next year.
