A Toddler Wish List

So, I feel like I'm the only blog-mom in the world that hasn't finished all my Christmas decorating, shopping, and wrapping already (I'm so slack - haha); but, just in case you - like me - are just getting started, I thought I'd share some of my recommendations for the toddler (boy?) on your list.

This year, we are attempting to start the three gifts tradition, which is all over Pinterest and the internet lately; but, I had a little fun compiling this board with ALL the fun stuff available out there. (I've been dying to share some of my finds but didn't want to give them away.... I'm pretty sure this is safe because Sam doesn't read my blog... yet.)

Toddler Wish List

Some of the items we already have, some are gifts coming from relatives, and some will be from us (I mean Santa.)  Can you guess which three gifts Sam is getting this year?

Seriously, having a toddler makes the holidays about 10 million times MORE fun - and, I thought they were pretty darn fun before. :)

What are you giving??
*I didn't get any money, discounts, or incentives in exchange for this post... I just have a shopping problem. :)

  1. My girls get three gifts, but I'd never heard of anybody else doing that! I'm glad we're not alone. They get pajamas (on Christmas Eve), one toy (from Santa) and one book (from us). They get a slew of clothes and other toys from all their aunts, uncles, and grandparents. I want the girls to appreciate what they get, so we take a step back, and let others do the spoiling. Despite only needing to buy 6 things, I have none of my shopping for the girls done yet. Blah.

  2. If I had to guess...it would be the clothes and shoes ;) There really isn't much money this year for Christmas, but knowing the grandparents, my daughter will get some new toys. With our son coming this January, the priorities kinda have to be focused on the need items coming up. If things change later on in the years, I would love to get to do this for my kids.

  3. I love the three gifts idea, and I love the idea of giving pajamas on Christmas Eve too. So fun! AS hard as I try to shop or have homemade gifts finished early, I'm usually still running around like a mad woman on December 23rd to do my Christmas shopping. I guess I'm doing alright as long as I beat Santa to the house ;-)

  4. Having kids at Christmas is soooo much fun! The older they get the better it gets too. My 7 year old and 5 year old just light up at the sight of Christmas lights, trees, and presents. My 15 month old lights up too, but then he runs and pulls the ornaments off the tree, so not as much fun.

I must be out of the loop, because I haven't heard about the three gifts thing. I have however, heard of the 4 gifts of Christmas and I love the idea for when my kids are little older and done with Santa.

    1 thing they need
    1 thing they want
    1 thing they read
    1 thing they wear

  5. I like the 3 gifts (want, need, wear etc) idea.

So far Santa has purchased a sippy cup and a toy phone for Jack. I'm honestly not sure if he'll get anything else from us (grandparents will spoil him), because what else does an 8 month old really need?!

I bet Sam will love anything that Santa brings! (That cardboard castle thing is awesome!)

  6. I found that castle for $7 on sale at Target a few months ago. I am saving it for Piper when she is a little bigger. Love all the cute things on your list for Sam. I found some amazing sales at Target in January right after Christmas last year.

Hope your Christmas shopping/decorating is going well. I LOVE your new chalkboard. I can't wait to see a post on what you want for Christmas.

    Love ya, Jen

  8. We made a five gift rule: a want, a need, a wear, a read & a really, really, really want- yet I've continued to buy gifts for Luke and just give them to him early to not spoil my "rule." Who's a toddler mom addicted to Christmas shopping? oh yea, that's me.
