Adjusting & A Little Help

Hello there!  Sorry I've been a bit quiet around here lately.  It always takes me a week or so to get adjusted to the new schedule of summer break, but rest assured that we are happy and LOVING the break!

On top of that, we had a big storm here yesterday afternoon and, although we were one of the very lucky ones to NOT lose power, we don't have internet at home so my blog access is limited to quick Starbucks runs and my phone.  Bear with me, I'll be back...

In the meantime, I've been busy working with The Fairy Blogmother to get my blog in tip top condition for the upcoming Blogher conference in July.  She is putting together an AWESOME blog make-over and my friend Howard just took some fun "headshots" for me.  (Ask me how awkward it is to have a friend take 250 photos of just you.  Very.)

Here are a couple of outtakes for your viewing pleasure:

Now THIS is real life. :)
Love Sam's face here.
In addition to all that, I'm also trying to organize all of my old posts into some easy categories/labels AND re-writing my blog profile "blurb," "About Me" page, etc.

That's where you come in...  Can you help?

I really want to be authentic in the way I present myself at the conference (and online in general) and remain true to this community that WE have created.  I want my bio to truly represent me and this place.

So tell me, how would you describe me/ E, Myself, & I?

I REALLY appreciate your feedback... Can't wait to unveil the new design and all the newly organized stuff soon.

Happy Friday!

  1. you're the cutest. I know that doesn't really help with the blog organization, but maybe add that to your bio?

  2. You're honest...you give raw accounts of your actual real life and that's extremely rare. I think that's my favorite thing about your space here in the blogosphere. That and you're super funny and relatable.

  3. I'm so glad you're going to BlogHer! Ack, that reminds me I totally never emailed you back the last time you emailed me. Sorry, that's the worst!

I'm still unsure if I'll make it. Leaning toward no but good luck, sweetie. You'll do great!

  5. Happy Summer! :] Those pictures are adorable!

It's hard to think of ways to describe your blog because it's so many things! You are a passionate teacher and mother who is in a balancing act of the two. I love that some of your posts are fun and silly (Bachelorette) but others are serious and thought provoking. I love reading both types so it's nice to have the mix up. You are so real and don't try to put on an act, it's really apparent that this is you and your real life.

  6. I agree with everyone that you are REAL. A REAL mom. A REAL teacher. A REAL woman. I really like reading your blog because it's like sitting down at a coffee shop with an old friend and having comfortable conversations that cover everything from mommyhood to makeup. That's what makes this little space of the interwebs special. :)

    1. Oh and the first picture with Sam's little tush in the background and Addie watching over everything really sums it up nicely. :D
