So, since it may have been just too much for you to take in, I thought I'd wrap-up a few fashion Dos & Don'ts learned from the Presidential Inauguration and The Bachelor yesterday. Ha! Enjoy!

DO wear purple
DO invest in a tailored coat

DO coordinate with family/ people you will be photographed with - but not too much.
Source |
DO cut bangs to look younger and hipper
Source |
DO accessorize classic in black and white with a fun accessory
Source |
DON'T wear tight jean shorts rolled or cut-off with the pockets showing (really, just don't wear jean shorts)
Source |
DO add a simple cardigan
Source |
DON'T wear six-inch heels to an amusement park
DO wear bright colors in simple styles
DO choose clothing that accentuates your best features (like Michelle's arms - duh!)

DON'T wear neoprene scuba-suits as dresses. (Sorry Kacie, but I'm not sure what happened to you this season. Not. cute. Were y'all surprised to see her go so soon?)
Haha! This was fun. What would you add? To watch you both?
Political viewpoints aside, I have the utmost respect for our President and the historical significance of this day. I am proud to be an American and will be supporting and praying for the Obamas for the next four years. I cannot say the same for The Bachelor. ;)
Haha...so all of the DOs were the Obamas, all of the DON'Ts were the Bachelor ladies?? So polarized!! But Kacie's scuba dress was a TRAIN WRECK of epic proportions, I'll definitely agree with you there. Love Michelle's red dress. And I thought Lesley's lace dress was darling, but I was totally stressed it was going to come up a bit too high during that kiss!!
ReplyDeleteI want Michelle, Sasha, and Malia's wardrobes. Then I'd like their stylists to come help me dress in all those fabulous clothes. I can't remember a single incident of any of the three of them having a style miss. Those bachelorettes, on the other hand...
ReplyDeleteTotally agree about all of The Bachelor DON'Ts! Especially Leslie's mini dress! I totally thought that we were going to see something that we shouldn't!
ReplyDeleteI'm also jealous of all of the Obama ladies' clothing and accessories!
OMG!! I agree about the Bachelor DON'T's!! Who wears HIGH HEELS to an amusement park--with a lace dress??? And WHO ON EARTH wears a shirt (um, I mean..dress?) that short on a tall stage?? And Kacie B's scuba dress--ummm no! Some of those girls' wardrobe's are a train-wreck!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Obama's clothing was indeed classy!
I love your weekly Bachelor weigh-in! I liked Kacie on Ben's season, but this time around? She looks like a hot mess. I'm kinda glad to see her go!
ReplyDeleteI laughed when I saw the title of your post, and my first thought was - Kacie B's track suit dress!!! Agh! Terrible. :)
ReplyDeleteI noticed all your Dos were from the Obamas and all your Don'ts were from the Bachelor. I guess Michelle can do no wrong and Shawn/Sean's girls can do no right. Kinda true. (I really liked this post.) :)
ReplyDeleteVery solid fashion Do & Don'ts! The heels at the amusement were super frustrating!
ReplyDeletethis.was.hilarious. ;) I have all the same thoughts in regards to the bachelor last night. wicka-WHAT was up with that dress at an amusement park??
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing I will all of that in mind.... :)
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I love the DO's and the DONT'S were just well dont's! Love the way they all complimented each other. Just so fashionable.
ReplyDeleteLove it! I was totally MEH on the Bachelor after Ben, then Emilys season. Totally hooked, line, and sinkered on this one. Practically in tears over the adopted girl's story/date. Completely agree with you Kacie is so weird on this season, I think media attention fried her fashion and personality. Cute post! Hope Sams still doing well post-surgery!
ReplyDeleteyes its lovely
