Communicating with Exes

I don't have a whole lot of experience with ex-boyfriends.  In fact, most of mine were between the ages of thirteen and fifteen and are now great friends of ours.  BUT, my sister on the other hand, has quite a collection in her past.  Sometimes, I kind-of like to live vicariously through her and her wild life. Tonight is one of those nights.

So, on behalf of girls everywhere, I'd like to send a little message to the ex-boyfriends of the world.

Sending a photo-text message like THIS randomly at 2:16PM on a Tuesday TEN years after you broke up is just plain strange.
Face blurred to protect the innocent... No other adjustments have been made to this photo.

Seriously?  I'd like to know how this went down.  Was he just in the gym in the middle of the day and thought, "Man, I am looking good.  I think I'll send Kathryn a picture just to remind her of how hot I am"? Honestly, if boys would share HALF of their self-confidence with most of the girls I know, we'd be set!!!

And, in case you are wondering, here's how the rest of the text message conversation read:

K - Did you mean to send this to me?  (I LOVE that she would write this back.)

Ex - Yes.  I'm flexing so it doesn't look like that 24/7, but I'm working on it.  (PLEASE tell me that a friend stole his phone and sent this!)  Your birthday is coming up, isn't it.  (Is this supposed to be a gift?)

K - Yes.

The End.

I'm pretty sure this can fall under the category of "Midweek Laughs."  What advice do you have for exes trying to attempt communication?  We ought to get some good ones here!

Happy Birthday Jeff!

My family celebrates birthday MONTHS.  (My sister's is next Sunday, and she has literally been planning it since mine at the end of March.)  Jeff's family didn't really know each others' birthdays until I came into the fam and started making a big deal about them (this might be a slight exaggeration, but  his brother really did think he was a whole year younger than he really was until I reminded him of his actual age at his last birthday).

Anyway, today is Jeff's 27th birthday!  It might not be a big deal to him, but I'm thankful for a day to celebrate him and all that he means to me and so many other people.  He truly is a man of patience, perseverance,  faith, integrity, gentleness, kindness, and strength.  (I could go on and on and on.) I am really the luckiest girl in the world to have snagged such a wonderful guy so early in my life.  (This is the tenth birthday year we've celebrated together!)

After church, I had planned a simple picnic in the park for us; but, it rained. So, we ate lunch on the floor of our sunroom, did some work on the nursery, and now we are watching a movie and drinking decaf coffee.  It seems he is rubbing off on me more than I'm rubbing off on him! :)

I don't have any pictures or anything from our day; but I love this one because it shows Jeff so "in his element." I can't wait for him to have a little boy to share his love of the outdoors with.
I love you Jeff!  Happy Birthday!

Lilly Pie Winner & Other Things

First of all, THANK YOU to all of you that participated in the Lilly Pie give away this past week.  Laura makes some beautiful things, and - whether you win or not - I hope you all treat yourself to a little something that makes you feel beautiful once in a while.
Next, CONGRATULATIONS to Trever at Desperately Seeking Seersucker, the lucky winner of a Lilly Pie Helland Necklace!!!  (I just won a giveaway on her blog not too long ago... Crazy!)

And, now, a few other little things: (in bullet format because I should be cleaning)

- I am 29 weeks pregnant today.  I'll spare you another picture and full update, but I just can't believe how close we are now.  I know the next eleven weeks will go SO fast... I have something to look forward to almost every week.  Can't wait to meet my little man!

- I failed my glucose test on Wednesday morning.  I'm really embarrassed about it and sad, but I keep reminding myself that Kelly failed hers the first time too (a lot of women actually do) and that somehow helps a lot.  I go back next Wednesday for the three hour test... My numbers were very high the first time around, so I'm not very hopeful about passing - BUT, prayers (or advice if you have any) would be much appreciated in the meantime.

- It is always a sad day when you realize your spring break is over and you got about 1/3 of your "to do" list accomplished... I feel like I've been running in circles this week trying to get projects done around the house/ just keep it straight.  Jeff has been working SO hard on refinishing our front porch and deck.  This is going to look awesome when he is all done; but, in the meantime, I have a grill in my kitchen, tools EVERYWHERE, and a constant trail of dirt and dust from the front of the house to the back.  I DID however, get all of Baby C's clothes that we have so far washed and put away (thanks to my mom) and FINALLY got my own closet back to some sort of organization.  I'm trying to dwell in the joy of little things! :)

Ok, that's all.  Have a wonderful spring Saturday!  Can't believe tomorrow is MAY!!!
