- Several of my favorite bloggers have been doing "real mom" blog posts this week (like this, this, and this). While I'm genuinely happy to hear that they don't - in reality - have it all together, and that I'm much more normal than I feel sometimes, I'm also kind-of bummed... I'm supposed to be the honest mom-blogger who's not afraid to admit that her life is a hot mess most of the time... It's my self-declared m.o. Those bloggers don't even know that I exist; yet somehow, I feel like they just went out and got the same haircut as me the day before school pictures. I have issues. Clearly. (Katie, don't worry, you've always been the honest mom blogger too. ;) )
- I'm in charge of invitations for a baby shower I'm co-throwing (is that a word?). It's basically my only major responsibility. The shower is just over one month away. The invitations have not been ordered. Save-the-date email maybe?
- I swallow my gum. Always. (For the record, I mostly quit doing this while I was pregnant... But, I'm back at it.)
- I've been paying for Weight Watchers since Jan. 1 and still haven't logged one complete day.
- We eat frozen pizza for dinner at least once a week. (See above.)
- At any given point, I have three blog posts in my "drafts," just waiting to be published. The problem is, I'm TERRIBLE about taking pictures and even worse about downloading them on to the computer. It is really hurting my groove. I need an iphone.
- I also REALLY want an iphone because of all the cute covers out there. That might be my main reason.
Ok, now... Go forth & link up!
Haha! I love all the cute iphone covers too! It would be nice to have one as a camera as well...
ReplyDeleteWeight Watchers: I am certain it works if you use it, but I seem to have the same problem as you.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think cute covers are a perfectly good reason to buy an iPhone!
I got the WW apps on my phone and that's helped me log everything. Sometimes, I have to go back and do it the next day, but it definitely helps me keep a grip on what I'm putting in my mouth. But I've refused to deny myself. If I want it, I eat it. Then I track it and try to keep things in perspective.
ReplyDeleteFrozen pizza every week? Yep, we do that too. It's my favorite "I don't feel like cooking tonight" meal.
ReplyDeleteI don't think there's anything wrong with swallowing your gum... I've been doing it my whole life. :) And I'm with you on the drafts-- by the time I get to them, it's usually too late. Bah!
ReplyDeletebahaha. I'm friends with two of the three moms you mentioned who did those posts and they're pretty honest ;) I mean, maybe not as honest as ME, ha. but yea. Cute. And the WW things make me cringe, but I'll forgive you.
ReplyDeleteYou totally cracked me up this week. Your confessions are so relatable! I highly recommend an iPhone. Most weeks there is at least one iPhone photo in all of my posts. I always have my phone with me, which means I take way more pictures than if I rely on my camera.
ReplyDeleteUm, I have paid for WW since SEPTEMBER! and just started using it Jan. 1st. But now that I am 1/2 way into week 3, I have to say it is becoming a bit of a habit. You can DO IT! And I would not be able to live without my iPhone - or breathe. Get one, it is SO worth (and the cute covers are just a bonus!)
ReplyDeleteyou stole the words right out of my mouth... all of a sudden being an honest mom blogger is in vogue. I just did a post on 'keeping it real' {which you were named} and days later 3 of the "perfect" blogs I follow {perfect photos, perfect house, perfect style} started doing an "UN-PERFECT" feature... WTH? I'm so annoyed and I don't know why... maybe because it doesn't feel genuine or maybe it's because they've made me feel inadequate for far too long to stop now. If you do get an iPhone you might want to check out Society6 for a case... the designs are ahh-mazing. xo
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I buy frozen pizzas and call them "emergency dinners" for nights we get home late. Except we usually eat them that night or the next night because we are lazy.
ReplyDeleteI just got an iPhone & it's my most favorite thing! (of material things of course!) You need one! Makes it SO MUCH EASIER to post pics & all that!
ReplyDeleteThere are lots of honest mommy blogs out there. I've been reading them since i started blogging almost 3 years ago. I love honest blogs! Yours is one of my favorites!
I've always swallowed my gum. It's okay, in my opinion! :)
We do frozen pizza EVERY Friday night. Doesn't help that I buy them in 3-packs at BJs where, with my coupons, 3 costs less than 1 at Farm Fresh!
ReplyDeleteI hope I'm not a blogger that irritates you; I'm doing an honest post today!
