Let's see what confession-worthy news I have for you today...
- Our basement is TERRIBLE. This wouldn't be that big of deal (although I do have a mini-panic attack every time I walk down there) except that we have a friend coming by with her entire family to "see the house" on Friday. Interestingly, we figured out at our high school reunion a few weeks ago that our house was actually built by her grandfather, and it is the house her dad was raised in. (Pretty cool, huh?) Anyway, I'm wracking my brain trying to come up with some way to politely not allow anyone in the basement. Do you think that's possible? What if it is a really sentimental place for them? Like they carved something into the wall or something? Seriously, I'm not sure they could walk more than three steps into the space. Cleaning it has been on my "to do" list for MONTHS now; but, I am finally admitting that it is not going to happen before Friday. Ugg.
- Jeff is making mashed potatoes and two pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving. My (totally un-domestic) sister is making something so fancy that she had to order ingredients from Amazon (no lie). I am making nothing. (Well, unless you count a little DIY table cloth - haha!) Domestic goddess right here folks.
- I laugh WAY too much when Sam misbehaves. I know I'm "creating a monster," by giggling when he throws noodles all over Addy or throws himself head-first out of a chair; but he is just so darn cute.
- A picture fell off of Sam's gallery wall about three months ago. It has still not been re-hung. Maybe it will be before our visitors on Friday.
"What would Kristina do in this situation?"
"Oh, Kristina had to deal with this once!"
"I wish I was more like Kristina in ..."
Or, a current favorite dinner table game: Asking Jeff what he would do in x situation and then revealing how Adam and Kristina handled it.
I'm not even exaggerating.
I'm not even exaggerating.
- We are walking a 5k tomorrow morning. It might be the most exercise I've done since I walked the same race last Thanksgiving
Ok... That's all for this week. In between all your cooking, traveling, and hanging with friends and family, won't you please come confess with me?
Grab and link below!
Oh my gosh - love that you wrote about Kristina. i think I'm obsessed with ALL of the Braverman's. I just want to be in their family. Even though i really love my own family! Haha!

ReplyDeleteGood for you for walking the 5K. The closest I am coming to exercise this week was watching the Santa Scamper run, that was held before the parade we went to tonight.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your midweek confessions; still trying to figure out how to add it to my blogs or blog....my basement is also a mess. It is partially finished it has become the play room...every so often I go attack it and get rid of some missing or broken toys....and send my kids to help me with the dusting and organize their toys. We are due....the laundry room is a sore subject first I hate doing laundry so I am very lucky that hubby helps out but he must hate bringing the folded laundry upstairs because it just stays there....aaargh! But if we are talking about rooms the upstairs bedroom is the worse, last year when I have no idea we finally moved my son in his own room everything that was in his room went in the other bedroom and is still there as we speak. I need a good 3 solid days to clean it up and I actually don't have it,,,someday! Last confession I hate the holiday season approaching....yup bah humbug! Its to much pressure!
ReplyDeletei also laugh when my son disobeys. he's 15 months and will point his finger at me and say NO! and it's so funny, i laugh every single time.
ReplyDelete(and i think the same thing you do -- i'm creating a MONSTER!!)
Love this! We don't have a basement full of stuff, but we do have an office of doom at our house. It is right inside our front door, so it seems to be the room that everything gets dumped into. The downside of it being right next to the front door is accidentally forgetting to close the office door before answering the door. Oh well. I'll just keep telling myself I will get around to cleaning it...and keep praying for a Christmas miracle that it will be miraculously organized while I'm sleeping. A girl can dream, right? Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteOooh...keep us posted on how that basement situation turns out. And I have no idea who Kristina Braverman is and will now be doing some serious Googling to see what I'm missing out on.
ReplyDeleteI totally wish Kristina Braverman WAS a real person and that I knew her! I sometimes find myself thinking of her too, so don't feel bad.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the 5K... I am also doing it and WALKING! ;)
I always freak out when people have to come to my house and look in my room! It just looks so un-puttogether to me... Awesome post though! :) I would love it=f you would check out my blog at http://summertimesweety.blogspot.com/ it is about paking, the beach, and anything Summer! :) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThat's right. sometimes I want to hide some room or something in my house. Especially when my 30months old son messed up.
