Well, it is officially Thanksgiving week. Seriously, where has this year gone?!?!
Second to what I'm wearing (of course), I've been thinking & planning away for "my" table this year. In past years, my mom, her best friend Peggy, and I have each set & decorated a table for the big meal. Then, we've had friends, family, and even blog readers, vote for their favorite table.
We haven't done this the last couple of years for various reasons (mainly because I was such a hot mess this time last year); but, this year, I'm excited to be decorating a table again. (And, as an added challenge, I'm going to do it on a very small - as in less than $20.00 - budget.)

ReplyDeleteYou know, I have been cooking Thanksgiving dinner for over 20 years now so I kind of had a breakdown a few weeks ago and demanded that we all go out for dinner. About a week ago, I started feeling ashamed of myself. Isn't it a mother's responsibility to prepare a Thanksgiving meal for her family? So, now I'm cooking for 14 people. I'm stressing out to the max but am so happy I'm doing it. After everything is said and done, it's a perfect gift from me to the people I love.

We are hosting Thanksgiving for the first time and are very excited. To save time this week, we set our table yesterday. We have a beautiful Charleston centerpiece bowl (Crate & Barrel) in the middle filled with cinnamon-scented pine cones from Target. The tablecloth is white with golden embroidery. I love how it all turned out!
ReplyDeleteBurlap is like $2 a yard (something really cheap like that), and it would go with your natural/found look! Love you. :) (Thanksgiving will be a good excuse to wear your maternity jeans.)
