Midweek Confessions

- I find myself using dog commands like "stay" and "drop it" way too often with Sam.

- I have officially turned in to the parent that cages in her child.  Remember my cute sunroom? Well, enter "Baby Gate," and now it is one orchid away from a prison.

- Even though I'm an English teacher, I over-use quotation marks, and I'm not entirely sure what the correct usage of them is.  (I'm also not entirely sure that that last sentence was grammatically correct.)

- I'm pretty sure Sam is spoiled, like, not in a good way.  (More to come on this soon.)

- I have been organizing my closet/getting out my spring clothes for close to two months now.  It is on my "agenda" every weekend; but, yet, the guest room still looks like a tornado went through it.

- I do not handle change well.  Currently, this personality trait is manifesting itself in the form of anxiety over Blogger's new dashboard.  Why isn't anyone else complaining about this.  Deep down, I know it isn't even all that different, and I can definitely still navigate it; but, I'm so stressed by it.

The End.

  1. Ok so the dashboard is different? How?? Maybe I just haven't really looked at it.

I am jealous, yes you read that right, that you can cage him in. Our house is small but open so there aren't doorways to close her off. She gets into everything!! Everything. It's terrible. I love outdoors because there is so much less for her to get into...

Also guilty of the dog commands. Good one!

  2. Baby jail has entered our house too. Our little guy hasn't spent too much time in it (and most of it is spent standing next to the rails), but it has given me the opportunity to do things like use the restroom unaccompanied for the first time in MONTHS!

  3. We used gates to keep my son save and so mom could make dinner without him glued to my leg.

  4. We were just taking about baby gates for our almost 5 & almost 3 yo's because they can't seem to stay out of the kitchen when we are making dinner! Lol!

  5. You're not alone on the Blogger dashboard. I complained to them and they ignored me. I didn't even get an auto-reply. It is not intuitive or easy to use.

We had a baby gate fence around our Christmas tree last year. Not the same as using the sunroom as a prison, but close, right?

I'm good on the quotation mark front, but I overuse parenthesis and semicolons. I'm also guilty of run-on sentences. I need an editor to pare down my wordy writing. <---case in point

  6. The new blogger format almost makes me want to quit blogging!

    Almost.

  9. Re: the first confession, we've noticed recently that Ella's started carrying things around in her mouth...also, when I gave the dogs bones last weekend she cried when I wouldn't give her one. True story.

  10. The new Blogger dashboard stressed me out too - I think it's more confusing now! But I guess I'll get used to it. The first confession made me laugh, because I do that with Wyatt too!
