Chapman Oktoberfest 2010

Well friends, we survived another Chapman Oktoberfest!!

Saturday night, Jeff and I hosted our annual beer-tasting event.  It is something we started the first year we were married and has steadily grown into something we look forward to (and tell ourselves our friends do too) every year.  In a way, it kind-of rings in the fall for us!!

The premise of the party is that all guests bring a six-pack of "the most original beer" they can find.  Then, we provide giant coolers, snacks, and cups for sampling.  All night, friends from different walks of our lives hang-out, taste a WIDE variety of beers, and vote for their favorite and least favorite.  At the end of the night, we "crown" the winner and roast the loser! It really is a fun night (and I don't even really drink beer).  This year, over 45 different types of beer were submitted.  This is serious folks!

So... without further adeiu, I bring you the 2010 WINNER:

Matthew - all the way from Delaware
Das Echte - all the way from GERMANY
(Seriously!) Matthew is in the Airforce and brought this back from his last trip.  (Pretty official, huh?)

Kathryn - for the 2nd year running!!!

(Proudly accepting her prize - 40oz. of Miller High Life and a solo cup.)
(Stay away from this one!)

Thanks to all our wonderful friends who came!  I never love my house more than when it is filled with friends!

(Read about last year's event here.)

  3. wow that sounds like a great time! I'm gonna have to borrow that idea some time!

  4. Mo and Dave weren't wild enough to make it into the blog?? I am disappointed.
They should receive the party crashers award.
