Have you met Sophie?

Luckily, Baby Chapman will not be left out. His wonderful Aunt Amanda has provided him with his very own Sophie teether. Whew! As we speak, she is waiting patiently in his little nursery for his arrival.
There is one problem, however... This little lady has stolen another heart in our family already.
This particular family member has always had a fondness for squishy, squeeky toys; so, it was love at first sight when she met Sophie on Sunday night. Jeff and I were casually unpacking shower gifts and placing them in the nursery when Sophie let out a little cry. That was all it took.

Since that night, our girl has become quite obsessed. In the last three days, she has been found, on more than one occasion, crying outside the nursery door for her beloved. When we are in the nursery, she lays right under Sophie's resting spot or sits and stares directly at her (in the basket, as pictured above). The rest of the time we have to keep the door closed up tightly to prevent a coup.
A love triangle already? Will Addy's heart be broken when she sees Baby C gently gnawing on the love of her life? Or, worse, will Jeff's predictions come true and she will "take out" any obstacle standing between she and Sophie - even if it is a her baby brother? What's a family to do?
Oh no! Poor Addy, many she needs a new squeeky to distract her?!
ReplyDeleteI am afraid we will have the same problem with our furry child, he is already obsessed with the few baby toys that we have acquired!
This is by far the cutest picture I have seen all week! :) My Raven has a penchant for staring at things she isn't allowed to have, too. I agree with Kristen...maybe a special new lovey for Addy?
ReplyDeleteis sophie expensive? perhaps her special new toy could be an additional sophie? i can't handle when my dog loves a toy like that--i think its just too cute!
ReplyDeleteOK now let's see the nursery reveal already:) That little sneak peak made me want to see more!!
ReplyDeletehahaha, this is hilarious! I'm thinking Addy needs a new toy or something.
ReplyDeleteOur vet said that if your dog falls in love with one toy that is the baby's you might want to give it to the dog! (I know this is a $20 dollar teether!). We show Piper's toys to our dog Sadie and say "Piper's toy" and she will stay away. It may take a few times. Sadie fell in love with Piper's caterpillar from the Very Hungry Caterpillar. We also make sure she had several new toys when the baby arrived. Jen
ReplyDeleteoh my that is too funny! Dogs crack me up! Good luck Sophie, best of luck to ya!
