I can't say enough how incredibly blessed and loved I have felt throughout this entire pregnancy - despite all the other things I might have felt at various times. :) This weekend really epitomized that, as my sweet family members and friends gathered from all over to celebrate my little guy on-the-way. THANK YOU to all of you for the overwhelming support you have shown in this season of my life. You have made me feel SO special! :)
Here are a few pictures & details from the weekend:
After a great dinner on the deck with my girlfriends from Clemson who made the drive in Friday night, my mom's best friend Peggy - who has been spoiling me my entire life - threw me a beautiful shower on Saturday.
I didn't get a good picture of Peggy and me; but, she thought of every little detail to make the shower perfect. Look at this beautiful room with view of the golf course filled with people I love...
I don't have a picture of the invitation to show you, but the cake matched it PERFECTLY. |
The "Big Chill" girls and daughters; Aunt Delores; Meg, Lindsey, & sweet Adelaide |
And, I got TONS of wonderful, practical, adorable gifts! No thank you note will ever be able to do them justice. (Yes, my wonderful sister wrote down all the gifts as I got them AND drank a Bud Light at my classy country club shower. I loved it!)
The baby swing from the Big Chill, adorable clothes from Aunt Delores - who went WAY above and beyond, and a homemade nursing cover mailed from Lea in Colorado to match our diaper bag. |
We even played the infamous game "Things Overheard on the Wedding Night" changed to "Things Overheard on the Conception Night" with my gift opening comments... DID NOT see that one coming, but it certainly provided some good laughs! (I wonder what Jeff's grandmother and mom were thinking - haha!)
The shower could not have been more perfect! Not only is my little man going to be the best dressed kid on the block, but he is already loved and spoiled by SO many.
Not to worry, the celebrating continued with a pool-side cookout at Kathryn's later that night, where...
Adelaide took her first dip in the "big pool." |
My awesome friend Courtney joined us after having to work all day and drive up from Columbia, SC (Yes, I do feel like a beached-whale in this photo.)

And we all just relaxed in a more casual environment. |
There is SO much more to share... But, obviously, I had a great weekend!!! Now, more than ever, I'm ready for Baby C to get here and meet all these amazing people in my life.
Now, back to the grind today... But, only three days of school left! I think I can... I think I can...
It was such an amazing weekend! I too feel so blessed to have such amazing family and friends!! Yes, get us through these next two days of school, then baby C countdown officially begins!!
