Lesson #3: Maternity jeans are a mom's best friend.
Diamonds? Yea, my rings didn't fit from about 20 weeks pregnant to 20 weeks postpartum. No lie. But, you know what did fit and never let me down? Maternity jeans. They are pregnancy's peace offering for stretch marks, sore boobs, acne, and baby-bangs. And, honestly, they just about make up for all those terribly unfortunate things.
Yep. I LOVE maternity jeans. And, yes, I wore them until Sam was six months old at which point they literally ripped down the middle - which is probably a good thing since I might never have given them up on my own will.
Mamas, don't be shy. Wear those things for as long as you want, and wear 'em proud. If you need an excuse, say your c-section scar still hurts or you don't want to buy new jeans until you've lost all your pregnancy weight - works like a charm!
I wore these beauties from Old Navy (gotta love the irony of Maternity "skinnies.") And - stop it! - I just saw that they now have colored jeans/jeggings in maternity too. Someone convince me not to go buy six pairs right this minute.

I've never been pregnant and I want to buy a pair! That cotton band looks WAY more comfy than a zipper and button for sure!!
ReplyDeleteI loved my maternity jeans. They are totally a jean-pajama pant hybrid and no one can see the pj part. Awesome sauce! Unfortunately, the jean part of mine got super droopy postpartum, so I had to move into my pre-pregnancy "fat jeans" for a bit. I'm back into my old ones, but the memory of the stretchy top kinda makes me want another baby like now.
ReplyDeleteLove this series!!
Still rocking my maternity jeans ... Six months post-partum! ;)
ReplyDeleteI was really worried about the fit of maternity pants (as this is my first pregnancy), but went ahead for motherhood pair of jeans. They fit perfectly, in fact they fit better all around than my pre-pregnancy jeans :)

I absolutely love these jeans! They have a perfect fit and make me feel attractive while I'm getting bigger and bigger! I ordered a medium, which is perfect for me. I usually wear size 6 (tight fitting jeans) or size 8 (comfortable fitting jeans), so that can give you an idea of "medium."
