Gone Girl

Have you read it?

I don't mess around with claims like this, but this (seriously) is one of the best books I've read ever.  If you haven't read it yet, do yourself a favor and get thee to a book store NOW.

Warning: This book will cause you to become a terrible wife, mother, homemaker, and otherwise functional member of society.  (Just ask Jeff - I read this thing like my life depended on it from cover to cover.)  Also, I should probably say that it isn't exactly a "light" read or a "feel good" kind-of story; but that Gillian Flynn - she is GOOD.

Oh geez Louise, I just saw (when Googling an image for this post) that a movie based on the book starring Reese Witherspoon is already in the works.  Somebody get me some water, I'll never survive until its release date.

That is all.

Confessions tomorrow!

P.S. I also read memoirs from 3.5 (I'm still working on Carry On, Warrior!) bloggers last month.  Look for a round-up/review of those soon!

  1. Loooooved that book!! Pretty sure I talked about nothing else on my blog for like a week after I read it. Also, I've heard that Reese is directing or producing it, not starring in it...but maybe things have changed!! I really can't see her as Amy, though.

  2. I've been waiting for this book at my library FOREVER (audiobook) I can't wait till it comes in! I have heard its awesome!

  3. Thanks for sharing this book was amazing.....

  4. i love love love this book! so much so, i immediately bought gillian's other two books --- you should too!

  5. Thanks for the reminder! I need to order this off of Amazon, pronto!:-) I keep seeing it at Target, but I don't want to pay for the full price of a hardcover...although, it's probably worth it!? xoxo

  6. I've been wanting to read this for forever!! It's on my list now!

  7. I too was a horrible wife, mother and person until I'd finished it. I could never guess what was going on. And the title took on so many meanings as I read.

  8. I read it on a plane and the first day or so of vacation this summer. I remember getting angry at my husband as if he would do those same things Amy wrote about. i am really interested to see how they turn it into a movie. Series of flashbacks maybe?

  9. I keep hearing about this book. What is it about?!

  10. Loved it!!! I made my book club read it. Then our food theme was "twisted things." I was super proud of myself for coming up with that. (Though someone brought a bottle of chocolate wine - because it is a twisted concept - and it was terrible...)

  11. I too couldn't put this book down. It's so good, and so twisted! For sure one of my favs!

  12. Gone Girl is on my reading list for sure… I keep meaning to get to it, but other books keep getting in the way.

  13. This was a very intriguing perspective on insanity twisted two times.
Love and Hate for both characters.
Kept you guessing till the end.
    Hope there is a sequel.
Have recommended it to all my girl friends.

Your comments are what makes this thing fun! I LOVE to hear from you and do my best to respond to everyone! THANK YOU!
